My Grandmother's Recipes.


My name is Sam and I am 18.
I never met my Grandmother because she died when my mom was in her late 20's.
However, recently I've been going through her old recipe box and scanning the recipes into my computer in order to create a digital archive of them all.
According to my mom she practically lived to cook. And from the look of the box she was always swapping recipes with friends and family.
So I thought that it would be a good way to honor this woman that I never met by sharing her recipes with all of you. I'm sure it would make her happy to know that her recipes are being used an enjoyed (considering neither my mom or I have good cooking skills.)

Black Walnut CakeDust 1lb walnuts with floourdump in bowl with: 4 eggs1/2 lb margerine1 cup water1 cup 10x sugar1/2 tsp (can’t read that…haha)3 cups cake flour (unsifted)pinch of sat1 heaping teaspoon baking powderBeat 5 to 8 minutes until glossygrease pan Bake until done. (my grandma was specific, wasn’t she? baha.)

Black Walnut Cake

Dust 1lb walnuts with floour
dump in bowl with:

4 eggs
1/2 lb margerine
1 cup water
1 cup 10x sugar
1/2 tsp (can’t read that…haha)
3 cups cake flour (unsifted)
pinch of sat
1 heaping teaspoon baking powder
Beat 5 to 8 minutes until glossy
grease pan

Bake until done. (my grandma was specific, wasn’t she? baha.)
